we saw that through effective speeches by michelle obama, the first lady, and bill clinton giving a rousing delivery the night before. obama was tasked with presenting what the next four years of his -- the white house would look like. but he didn't offer us enough specifics, i would say. he talked a lot about offering more manufacturing jobs, which is important of course, and investing in education and energy and infrastructure. but we didn't really hear anything new. instead he kind of offered a vision for the country and outlined how his vision competed with romney. and that was to say we -- we know times are tough. we know americans are struggling but stick with us. we have a firm grasp on this and we can take this in the right direction. now whether that sticks is uncertain and we've seen several polls show that the majority of americans feel like the country is headed the wrong direction. i think the question going forward is does that message resonate with those people concerned about the direction of the country and do they have time to wait and hang on? >> the message last night wa
